Setting up a store on eBay couldn't be easy. We have created a simple guide to help you set up an eBay store today.

Open a Sellers Account on ebay.co.uk

The first thing you need to do is to register on eBay.co.uk and create a seller's account. Chose the 'create a sellers account' link on ebay.co.uk where you will be asked to provide your credit or debit card details. Ebay ask for these details purely from a security perspective. Once the account is opened you will be charged a monthly fee. This monthly fee will include basic listing fees or you may wish to choose to enhance your listings. Preparing and listing your items on ebay.co.uk

Do your research first. Check out what your competitors are selling on eBay and how they have written their listings. See which listings work the best, in other words which listings received the most bids.

Once you have prepared your item follow the simple guide called 'sell your item form' on ebay.co.uk. A couple of points to note:

  • Make sure your title is descriptive and has the relevant keywords so that your buyer can find you. Make your text compelling!
  • Decide how long you wish to list your item for. Do you just want to list in the working week or do you also want to list during the weekend.
  • Always include a photo of your item. A prospective buyer always wants to see what they are buying before they make that purchase.

Decide your pricing, payment and postage charges

Before you decide on a price check out what your competitors are charging. Don't forget to include your postage and packaging in the cost when you list your item. You may wish to choose PayPal as it is a safe and easy way to pay on ebay.co.uk
